The ladies of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church (known locally as Clear Creek) and Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church banded together in 1982 to pass down the most beloved recipes from the best of farm housewife kitchens in the Keota / Harper, Iowa area. Over 1000 recipes from breakfast to midnight snacking are offered in this classic Catholic Church fundraising cookbook.

St Elizabeth is no longer standing, and Sts Peter and Paul, scheduled by the Catholic Hierarchy to be demolished, was saved by a group of the local German descendants, who have painstakingly restored it to its original splendor. Since the original artwork gracing the book's divisions were lost in time, this reprint features some of the architectural elements the group fought to preserve and information regarding the pioneer patrons who left their homeland and came to America searching for religious freedom and a better way of life for their families.
